10th Planet takes Gold and Silver at the MG Grappling tournament at Renegade MMA
For the last No Gi tournament for 2011, 10th Planet Melbourne and 10th Planet Sunshine took down a team of 19 warriors to Renegade MMA MG Grappling event on 10th Dec 2011. It was another great event put on by our friends at Renegade MMA. The event was on time, professionally run, had a high level of competition and a friendly vibe with everyone helping throughout the day. It was a great day had by all with several students competing for the very first time. There was some great fights on the day and everyone came away with a new level of experience to build from. A big congratulations to Dane Bruce and Sebastian Karagiannis on their Gold Medal victories and to GrayStar, Shane Philips and Prince on their Silver Medals. Check out the highlights below!

A Blue Spiral at the Eddie Bravo Seminar !
Well what an unbelievable experience! Seventy keen and eager students were on the mat for the first ever Eddie Bravo seminar at 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Australian Headquarters - 10th Planet Melbourne. People travelled from all over the country to experience first hand the teachings from Master Eddie Bravo. Eddie updated everyone on the latest in the art of jiu jitsu from around the world and particularly what he was focusing on at headquarters in LA. The seminar focused on the Spiral Guard, Deep Half and a revision of the Meathook. Students were put through their paces and got direct feedback from the Master as he walked the floor and engaged with all. He entertained the crowd with stories, enlighten them withhis theories and amazed them with his ability to break down moves for effective application. It was one of the best learning experiences of my martail arts journey and the feeling was recipricated by everyone who attended. The day was concluded with the presentation of 4 new Blue Belts to 10th Planet Melbourne students - Laura Dorgan, Kuba Wolanski, Chris Dima and Dane Bruce. The seminar was perfect timing with the recent opening of Relentless Martial Arts Academy home of 10th Planet Sunshine. Located at 120 Munro Ave Sunshine in Melbourne's western suburbs the Acadmey is headed up by 10th Planet Purple Belt Josh Pecastaing. With Josh and many of his students attending, it was a fantastic opportunity for new students to experience first hand the benefits of 10th Planet direct from Eddie. Josh also used the opportunity to present his very first Blue Belt to Duan who was delighted to receive his belt after consistent training and competing - a huge congratulations from the 10th Planet family.
